See: The Rye CommitmentRye High School is looking for a Theater Director to work after school to support students in the selection, rehearsal and production of their Spring Performance. The Director will serve as a faculty advisor and will support students in all aspects of the production of the play. This may include or require the support and coordination of other professionals such as choreographers, lighting designers, set designers and/or musical directors.The Director will work with the Coordinator of the Performing Arts Center as well as administration in order to arrange rehearsals and performances in collaboration with other groups using the space. The expectation is the Director cultivates leadership, responsibility and performance skills within students. Experience directing high school students and/or a teaching license preferred.ResponsibilitiesThe Director selects the play with student input and organizes the rehearsals and coordination of other professionalsThe Director serves as the liaison with the Performing Arts Coordinator and administrative teamThe Director serves as the advisor for students participating in the play and supports them in rehearsal, publication and organization of rehearsals and the performanceThe director cultivates leadership, responsibility and performance within the students
