POSITION: MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS (2) POSITIONS AVAILABLE LOCATION: elementary & secondary SCHOOLSQUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Eligible candidates must hold NYS license as a Mental Health Counselor or Social WorkerFacilitate individual and/or group counseling sessions with students.Conduct drug and alcohol prevention workshops and counseling sessions.Assess, evaluate, diagnosis and conduct ongoing progress monitoring of mental health.Implement programs to combat substance abuse.Address social and behavior problems.Assist with classroom and school crisis.Work collaboratively with staff and families.Refer students to external agencies and specialists if needed.Maintain detailed and confidential records.Attend Aspire meetings.Act as district liaison to external partners, (i.e. Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services and PM Pediatrics)Participate in Committee on Special Education meetings.Submit OASAS data and plan for the school grant.Work closely under the direct supervision of the Director of Pupil Personnel ServicesSALARY: Salary commensurate with experiencePursuant to RTA Collective Bargaining Agreement and District Policy only applicants who clearly DEMONSTRATE they hold APPROPRIATE Nysed CertIFICATION will be consideredapply for this POSITION by completing a cover letter,resume and applicationThe Roosevelt UFSD is an equal opportunity employer.
