Ridgefield Public Schools has an opening for a MTSS Behavior Lead commencing immediately. The position is shared .5 East Ridge Middle School and .5 Scotts Ridge Middle School. CT certification required.Qualifications:* Evidence of interest in school leadership. * Leadership ability. *At least three years of successful education experience. * Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators and parents.* Kindness, intelligence, sense of humor and grace under pressure. * Understanding of middle school age students. * Evidence of successful implementation and program development of social emotional learning strategies in the classroom or school community (PBIS, RULER). * Evidence of coaching skills.Among the duties of these positions are the following:Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of social-emotional interventions for students.Uses data to identify students for Tier 2 or 3 social-emotional intervention support.Delivers research-based strategies and techniques to support students individually or in small groups.Assist teachers and instructional staff in addressing students for Tier 1 intervention; provide guidance on strategies, tools, and techniques to effectively teach all students.Develop, document, and maintain ongoing intervention plans in the intervention management system.Maintains progress monitoring data on how students are responding to intervention plans to make adjustments as needed.Communicate with families regarding student progress and provide strategies families can use at home.Process disciplinary referrals and see that discipline has been noted and carried out in collaborating with administration. Facilitate peer to peer mediation to resolve conflict.Respond to reports of misbehavior or disruption and work with staff to resolve the situation.Communicate with teachers and administrators concerning individual student behavior through the MTSS process.Participate in weekly Case Management meetings and monthly MTSS meetings to discuss student progress, areas of concern, and intervention.Perform other reasonable duties designated by the Principal and consistent with the position and the contract between the Board of Education and the NEA-R.In addition to your OLAS application, please complete the application process at www.ridgefield.org
