RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Director of Curriculum, K-12. This position is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of curriculum initiatives across all educational programs, including ENL and World Languages, in collaboration with building principals and the Assistant Superintendent of Schools & Operations. This position will lead a team of instructional liaisons and work closely with faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure that our curriculum aligns with our educational goals and meets the needs of our diverse student population. This role will involve strategic planning, curriculum design, staff management, and collaboration with internal and external partners to continuously improve our educational offerings. Qualifications: Valid NYS administrative certification (SDA or SDL)Teaching experienceStrong knowledge of current educational trends, instructional strategies, and best practices in curriculum design.Strong understanding of language acquisition principles and instructional strategiesUnderstanding of MTSS and Universal Design for Learning principles.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.Familiarity with educational technologies and their integration into curriculum design.Knowledge of educational policies, standards, and regulations.Passion for education and a commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for students. Salary: $116,480 - $125,953 General Responsibilities: Develop a comprehensive curriculum framework that aligns with the educational mission, vision, and goals.In collaboration with building principals, lead the curriculum development process, including needs assessment, research, design, and evaluation of educational programs.Collaborate with faculty and instructional staff to ensure that curriculum reflects best practices, meets academic standards, and promotes culturally responsive, active and engaging learning experiences.Provide guidance and support to faculty and staff to ensure effective implementation of curricular initiatives.Stay abreast of emerging trends, research, and best practices in curriculum development and instructional design.Foster a culture of collaboration and professional growth among curriculum team members, faculty, and staff. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of curricula through ongoing evaluation, data analysis, and feedback from students, faculty, and other stakeholders.Keep abreast of changes in educational policies and regulations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and requirements.Coordinate district developed benchmark assessments.Provide leadership and support in the development and delivery of professional development programs for faculty and instructional staff.Provide department/curricular leadership ENL [English as a New Language] and World Languages coordination of curriculum, instruction and assessment.Lead evaluator for teachers under APPR.Available for evening BOE and Committee meetings as necessary.Performs other duties as assigned.
