Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in accordance with procedures established by the Superintendent of Schools. Qualifications Education and Certification: New York State certification as a Building-Level Administrator or School District Administrator. Meets all New York State certification requirements. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of successful administrative or supervisory experience in a public school setting is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and New York State Education Law. Working knowledge of special education regulations and student support systems. Experience in behavioral support structures and programming. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, staff, families, and community partners. Ability to use data to monitor student progress and improve outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Centralized Tutoring Program – Long-Term Suspended Students: Lead and manage the district’s centralized tutoring program serving long-term suspended students. Ensure consistent access to instruction aligned with district and state standards and expectations. Hire, train, and supervise part-time tutoring staff. Develop and implement individualized academic and behavioral support plans, including structured transition planning for students’ return to home school buildings. Monitor student attendance, engagement, and academic progress, providing regular communication to families and district/building leadership. Collaborate with directors, principals, counselors, and support staff to ensure continuity of instruction and coordinated student re-engagement supports. Monitor, analyze, and report on student behavioral and discipline data, including suspension trends, and collaborate with directors, building leaders and support staff to develop targeted interventions and support plans. Extended School Year (ESY) and Summer Programming: Oversee the Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Summer Program for students Pre-K–12 as an extension of district student support programming, including student IEP requirements and other regulations. Coordinate and oversee the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, staffing, master scheduling, and instructional delivery for summer programming. Support continuity of instruction and services for students. Special Education Coordination and Compliance: Coordinate and oversee manifestation determination reviews related to student suspensions, ensuring compliance with federal and New York State special education laws, timelines, documentation requirements, and due process procedures. Ensure alignment between centralized/summer programming and student IEPs. Program Operations and Collaboration: Establish and maintain intake procedures, program expectations, and maintain open communication with families. Serve as liaison between centralized programs, home schools, families, and district departments. Coordinate access to instructional resources and supports necessary for program effectiveness. Participate in district meetings, Board of Education presentations, and committees as assigned. Analyze program data, student outcomes, attendance, and behavioral trends to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts. Other Responsibilities: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
