The Rome City School District seeks an experienced business manager with strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and departmental management skills. Financial management skills required and an MBA would be preferred. This position reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools.Responsibilities include:Oversees the business office, including accounting, cash management, payroll, purchasing, treasurer, accounts receivable/payable, financial statements, insurance claims, state aid reports and claims, and inventory. Prepares the district budget, coordinates auditing, and advises the Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education on financial matters and policies related to the district’s financial matters. Supervises tax collection, collaborates on BOCES services/budget, and assists in collective bargaining.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:A. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Management;B. Five (5) years of experience in a business/finance related field and/or five (5) years of experiencein municipal accounting in a city school district setting preferred;C. Eligibility for New York State certification as a School District Administrator or School Business Administrator, or eligibility for civil service appointment as a School Business Official;D.
