The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for a probationary Assistant Principal position at the high school level. This position will start on July 1, 2024, and includes a regionally competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Valid NYS administrative certification (SAS, SDA, or SBL) is required. Bilingual candidates who are fluent in Spanish are encouraged to apply.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:At least 5 years of successful teaching experience at the secondary levelComprehensive understanding of New York State Learning Standards and secondary curriculum Strong knowledge of best pedagogical practices in secondary education and working with a diverse student population including English language learners and students with disabilitiesThorough understanding of the scheduling and administration of Regents and AP ExamsPrior experience utilizing Infinite Campus and/or other student management systemsAbility to effectively supervise and evaluate instruction to enhance student achievementExpertise in leading staff development and using data driven leadership to inform instructional and programmatic changesDetailed knowledge of DASA and its impact on student discipline, along with the ability to exercise fairness and equity when determining behavioral consequencesAbility to engage and work collaboratively with staff, parents, community members, and other stakeholders in support of carrying out the school’s missionExperience with effectively developing schedules, budgets, and various presentationsStrong management, organizational, and problem solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
