The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for a probationary Assistant Principal position at the lower elementary level (K-3). This position includes a regionally competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Valid NYS administrative certification (SAS, SDA, or SBL) is required. Bilingual candidates who are fluent in Spanish are encouraged to apply.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Five or more years of successful teaching experience at the elementary levelDeep comprehension of best practices in elementary education, including differentiation of instruction and Response to Intervention/Multi-Tiered System of SupportsThorough understanding of the NYS Learning Standards and elementary curriculumCapacity to promote a safe and supportive school environment that fosters the social and academic development of studentsDetailed knowledge of DASA and its impact on student discipline along with the ability to exercise fairness and equity when determining behavioral consequencesAbility to effectively supervise and evaluate instructional and support staffCapability to engage and work collaboratively with staff, parents, community members and other stakeholders in support of carrying out the school’s missionStrong management, organizational, and problem-solving skillsSuccessful experience working with a diverse student populationExcellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
