The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for a probationary Principal position at the elementary school level (Grades 4-6). This position includes a regionally competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Valid NYS administrative certification (SAS, SDA, or SBL) is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:At least five years of successful teaching experienceAt least three years of successful experience as a building administratorComprehensive understanding of New York State Elementary Learning StandardsCapacity to promote a safe and supportive school environment that fosters the social and academic development of studentsThorough knowledge of best pedagogical practices in childhood educationAbility to effectively supervise and evaluate instruction to enhance student achievementExpertise in leading staff development and using data driven leadership to inform instructional and programmatic changesDetailed knowledge of DASA and its impact on student discipline, along with the ability to exercise fairness and equity when determining behavioral consequencesAbility to engage and work collaboratively with staff, parents, community members, and other stakeholders in support of carrying out the school’s missionStrong management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to effectively develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and various presentationsSuccessful experience working with a diverse student populationExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
