The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for Occupational Therapists for our Extended School Year (ESY) services from July 6, 2026 - August 14, 2026. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting the functional skills and independence of children and adolescents with diverse needs Key Responsibilities : Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, visual-motor coordination, and activities of daily living Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives to address students' occupational therapy needs Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs, using evidence-based interventions and strategies to improve functional skills and independence Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and other members of the educational team to integrate occupational therapy goals into the overall educational program Monitor students' progress regularly and adjust therapy interventions as needed to ensure continued progress towards goals Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork in compliance with district policies and state regulations Participate in team meetings, including IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings, to discuss student progress, goals, and strategies Adhere to professional and ethical standards as outlined by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and relevant state licensing board Qualifications : Valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of New York Certification in School-Based Occupational Therapy preferred Experience working with children and adolescents with diverse needs, including developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, and physical disabilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
