The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for the positions of Custodial Worker (Days) and Custodial Worker (Nights). These are full-time 12-month positions which include a regionally competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Cleans and dusts surfaces such as furniture, blinds, window sills, etc.; Maintains floors by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, stripping and refinishing; Washes windows, walls, tables, bathrooms, etc.; Cleans light fixtures and replaces bulbs as needed; Collects and disposes of trash and recyclables; Moves furniture and equipment; Loads and unloads delivery trucks and transports supplies to proper areas;Assists in building maintenance work; Refills soap, toilet paper and paper towel dispensers; Performs exterior maintenance such as mowing lawns, sweeping sidewalks, shoveling snow, etc.FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to read and communicate in English. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: No formal education, training or experience is required.
