The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for a probationary CSE Chairperson position. This is a full-time 11-month position which includes a highly competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Valid NYS Certification (Special Education, Students with Disabilities, Speech and Language Disabilities, or School Psychologist) is required. Bilingual candidates who are fluent in Spanish are encouraged to apply.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:At least three to five years of experience in Special Education and/or related services in a school or district settingPrior experience leading and participating in CSE/CPSE meetingsThorough knowledge of CSE guidelines and regulations as related to Special Education servicesStrong understanding of psychological and educational testing and evaluations Ability to work and problem solve effectively with a variety of peopleExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, and digital)DUTIES:Implement and maintain procedures relevant to the CSE process; Ensure that all students referred to the CSE receive the necessary evaluations;Work cooperatively with parents, outside placements and the District to coordinate programs and services as a result of CSE meetings; Prepares agenda and schedule meetings of the CSE;Chair CSE meetings and complete IEPs; Work cooperatively with the school staff to place students in an appropriate program; Stay apprised of all NYS laws and regulations pertaining to special education services for school age students
