The Rocky Point UFSD currently has an opening for a Special Education Teacher.The special education teacher supports students with disabilities by delivering personalized instruction and assistance to facilitate their academic success. The role involves working with students who have a variety of disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional or behavioral challenges and physical or cognitive impairments. A primary responsibilty is to develop and implement Individualized Education Progams (IEPs), which outline targeted goals, accomodations, and support strategies tailored to each student. The teacher may work in diverse settings, such as self-contained classrooms, resource rooms or co-taught integrated environments.A Valid NYS Special Education Certification is required.
