REQUIREMENTS: The Individual should possess:Commitment to raising academic achievement for all studentsSubstantial knowledge of curriculum and instructionExcellent communication, human relations and strong leadership qualitiesAbility to articulate a clear vision and work collaboratively with staff, parents, community to accomplish collective goalsExtensive knowledge of elementary school (K-2) instructional practices and knowledge of current NYS Next Generation Learning standards and assessmentsExperience as an elementary school teacher and/or administratorAppropriate NYS certification –SAS, SDA, SBL RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day building administration including APPR and observationsKey member of instructional leadership teamEnsures a safe and effective educational atmosphere, provides discipline as necessary, and enforces school policyAssigns and schedules teachers and students in conjunction with the principalMaintains positive and respectful relationships with parents, parent groups, school volunteers and outside agenciesParticipates in district-wide activities, in-service workshops and committees, as appropriateProvides for a positive, high-expectations/high-support academic environment for students and staffAssists the principal in the preparation of the budgetWorks with respective department directors and chair peopleAssists in ensuring the implementation of all rules and regulations of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools or his representativeMaintains all records and reports, as requiredPerforms all duties prescribed by law, e.g., fire and other safety regulationsWorks with the building and district administration on issues related to guidance, special education, budget, curriculum and testingAssists the principal and presents information to community groups, employees of the district, and the general publicPerforms such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent or his designee SALARY: Compensation commensurate with experience & qualifications APPLY: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, résumé, copy of certification(s), unofficial transcripts and a list of professional references, including immediate list of supervisors, via OLAS no later than June 3, 2025 to:Susann Crossan, Assistant SuperintendentRocky Point Union Free School District
