Rockland BOCES has an immediate vacancy in our Student Services Program.PROGRAM: Jesse Kaplan School Social Communications/TEAMS Program POSITION: Principal CERTIFICATION: NYS Administrative Certification (SAS, SBL, or SDA) requiredSpecial Education certification or comparable certification required.Qualifications:Experience working with students with developmental disabilities, autism, physical impairments, and medical fragilityExperience with /or understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis.Experience with / or understanding of the TEACCH/Structured Teaching methodologyExperience with practices to de-escalate challenges behaviors.Exemplary record as a school administrative leader and teacherDemonstrated expertise in the use of achievement data as a program and instructional evaluation toolProven ability to inspire staff and students to achieve excellence and promote a positive school environment.Experience with/or understanding of Multi -Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)Expertise in curriculum development, supervision and evaluation of staff and programsA collaborative and inclusive approach with colleagues, students, parents, and the communityA hands on commitment to the success of all students and a willingness to advance a program predicated on equity of access for all studentsExpertise working with parents and a track record of quality community engagementExperience with student transition from school to adult programming Bilingual and Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
