Rockland BOCES has an immediate opening in our Adult Education Department.POSITION: Assistant Supervisor of the Rockland County Career Center Grant Funded Program DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Supervisor of Rockland Works, providing supervision of daily operations at the Career Center.Assist in program development, maintenance, planning, and management at a strategic level of operation.Oversees and facilitates educational learning opportunities for career center clientsProvides direct feedback to educational providers, contract partners and staff to change curricula to meet the needs of the client.Monitors program to maintain alignment with general rules and regulations relating to WIOA and the Rockland County Career Center Programs, Policies, and proceduresAssist in completing regular monthly and statistical reports, and fulfills reporting requirements as defined by WIOA, as well as disseminating those reports to the Supervisor, Workforce Development Board (WDB) and DOLSupervises and supports Program Coordinators, Career Counselors, and other support staffProvides leadership, accountability, and guidance in handling challenging client cases and employee concernsPlans and conducts outreach; develops contacts in the community for cross-referral and interagency collaborationAttends regular sessions with immediate supervisor, staff meetings and any other agency related on or offsite meetings or events.Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field such as School Counseling, School Psychology, Education, or Social Work preferred. NYSED certification in the areas listed or Adult Education certification required. Leadership and Workforce Development experience is a plus.Bilingual and/or Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
