Program Location: Throughout the organizationThis is technical work involving a variety of noninstructional support tasks designed to assist students and teachers with computer use, software programs and applications. An incumbent is responsible for setting up computers, monitoring student use and adjusting programs to meet users’ needs. This position also includes responsibility for maintaining computer systems and application software within the computer lab and throughout the school district building. The work is performed under the general supervision of a higher-level administrator with considerable leeway for independent judgment in carrying out assigned duties. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and:1. One (1) year of paid work experience that included troubleshooting, repairing or installing computers or related peripheral equipment as a major function of the work (major function of the work is defined as 50% or more of the day-to-day work experience); or2. Completion of twelve (12) college credits in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or comparable curriculum or completion of a recognized computer technology certificate program (e.g., Cyber Technology, Information Technology Essentials, Computer Network Service Technician, Computer Technician or comparable certificate program)Candidates must have applied or be willing to apply through the Rockland County Department of Personnel and be eligible for appointment from an established civil service list.Please ensure your OLAS application is complete, and references are current.Rockland BOCES is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
