POSITION: Principal - Jesse Kaplan School VISTA Program CERTIFICATION: NYS Administrative Certification (SAS, SBL, or SDA) requiredSpecial Education certification or comparable certification required.Qualifications:Experience working with students with developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, and autism.Experience with /or understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis.Experience with / or understanding of the TEACCH/Structured Teaching methodologyExperience with practices to de-escalate challenges behaviors.Exemplary record as a school administrative leader and teacherDemonstrated expertise in the use of achievement data as a program and instructional evaluation toolProven ability to inspire staff and students to achieve excellence and promote a positive school environment.Experience with/or understanding of Multi -Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)Expertise in curriculum development, supervision and evaluation of staff and programsExperience with assessment tools for children with autism i.e., ABLLS-R, AFLs, VB-MAPPA collaborative and inclusive approach with colleagues, students, parents, and the communityA hands on commitment to the success of all students and a willingness to advance a program predicated on equity of access for all studentsExpertise working with parents and a track record of quality community engagementExperience with student transition from school to adult programming Bilingual and Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
