Rockland BOCES has an immediate opening in our Adult Education Division.POSITION: Adult Ed Instructor- Career Support SpecialistResponsibilities:Monitors student progress in classesAdvises students with academic or attendance problemsResponds to student’s needs for letters for DSS or DOLCompletes reports for external agenciesMonitors student outcomesCollaborates with career training team, administration, advisors, and advisory boards to promote strong alignment of curricula with community employment needsEstablishes and maintains internship and job placement opportunitiesEngages community businesses regarding their immediate and long-term employment needs. Follows- up with students, tracks student placement. Analyzes data, prepares reports, presents findings at team meetingsDocuments all student interaction and outcomes in student files Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field such as School Counseling, School Psychology, Education, or Social Work required. NYSED certification in the areas listed or Adult Education certification required. WORK YEAR: 12 month- part time, flexible hours-day and eveningBilingual and Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
