Rockland BOCES has an immediate opening in our Adult Education Department.POSITION: Adult Ed Instructor- Career Counselor RESPONSIBILITIES:As part of a team, implements the goals of the Rockland BOCES CAREER Support ProgramConducts intake and assessments for potential participants to determine eligibility and suitability for vocational, educational, and/or employment programs; verifies participant eligibilityAssesses participant strengths and needs, develops individualized employment plans to address barriers to job-readinessMaintains accurate documentation of services provided to participants in paper files and in computerized student files; completes reports and compiles statistics, as required Works collaboratively with the Rockland County Career Center and other community agencies to coordinate services for participantsAssists participants individually and in groups to develop Employment Readiness Skills.Participates in inter-agency meetings to identify, develop and provide resources needed for employmentMonitors participant progress throughout the period of the grantOther duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field such as School Counseling, School Psychology, Education or Social Work preferred. NYSED certification in area listed or Adult Education Certification required. Experience in the Workforce Development field is a plusWORK YEAR: 12 month-grant funded position
