The Red Hook Central School District is seeking applicants for a Contract Substitute Teaching Assistant to support students at the middle school level. Applicants must hold a NYS Teaching Assistant certificate. Candidates who are bilingual in Spanish are preferred. Duties may include:act as case manager for up to 6 non-special education students in a support program to help students achieve academic success and build future focused habits;working with individual students or groups of students in the PLUS program in academic courses, supportive study halls, and afterschool – required 3 days per week;providing the teacher/family with information about students that will assist the teacher/family in the development of appropriate learning experiences and supports;assisting students in the use of available instructional resources, and assisting in the development of instructional materials;utilizing their own special skills and abilities by assisting in core instructional programs;supporting students using necessary testing strategies;assisting in related instructional work as required;position will require to work with students after school with a flexed schedule or additional compensation.
