Position Description: (10 month, up to 20 per diem summer days)Coordinate program activities for the Project AWARE SAMHSA Grant Award through the Rensselaer City School District. The position will coordinate with the Project Director, RCSD and LCSD personnel, NYSED, OMH and the project evaluators. The position will facilitate processes, create systems of care, identify other systems for which recipients may be eligible, implement policies and procedures to address the behavioral health needs of families. The position will assist with the implementation of the overall project objectives and goals. Supervised by the Program Director.Job Responsibilities: Develop a sustainable infrastructure to train both the RCSD and LCSD districts in Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) programs, Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA), Positive Action, PAX Good Behavior Game and additional training as developed and warrantedCreate Youth Resiliency Toolkit as a model program for NYS collaboratively with the Project AWARE Program Director, Project Aware Team, and Community PartnersSupport the coordination, implementation and presentation of program activities of evidence based SEL learning programsCoordinate with RCSD/LCSD personnel, NYSED, OMH, Project Evaluators Explore other evidence-based programs that would benefit the districts and overarching goals of Project AWAREExplore and recommend opportunities to crosswalk PBIS building-level framework to Project AWARE SEL initiativesReplicate and train staff in schools in Rensselaer County and/or across the stateKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:Computer literacy skills, knowledge of trauma and community resources, ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, sound judgment, initiative and problem solving skills. Minimum Qualifications and Education and Experience: NYS Educational Certification and Masters degree in the human services field (e.g. counseling, social work, psychology or community psychology, educational psychology, research and development.)At least five years of successful experience working in the field of school or community mental health and/or education, and should include execution of large scale projects.Experience in K-12 school district and/or community-based human services delivering SEL programming to students and families. 1 year of grant management experience preferred.Experience in all applications of Microsoft Office Suite.
