The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and student-centered individual to serve as the Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming athletic season. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering the development of student-athletes by emphasizing skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, character, and a positive competitive experience. The JV Coach will work collaboratively with the Varsity coaching staff to support the overall basketball program and prepare student-athletes for future success. Responsibilities include: Plan and conduct organized, engaging, and developmentally appropriate practices. Teach basketball fundamentals, game strategy, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all student-athletes. Supervise student-athletes during practices, contests, and team activities. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, school personnel, and the athletic department. Adhere to all NYSPHSAA, Section II, and Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk CSD policies, procedures, and expectations. Complete all required coaching certifications and trainings. Qualifications: Previous coaching and/or playing experience in basketball preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to positively motivate and mentor student-athletes. CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain). Must meet all New York State coaching certification requirements (or ability to obtain).
