RCS is looking for a dynamic 7-12 Math Teacher (Short-Term Substitute from February through May 2024) who is passionate about teaching and learning, creative and engaging in the classroom, and dedicated to helping all students succeed. Candidates should be innovative in practice, have a strong value in “school community,” and have vision in preparing our students to be civic-minded. Successful candidates should be able to teach algebra, and geometry.Candidate will be expected to:Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly classroom environmentEngage students in the learning process and excite them about college and career possibilitiesProvide both academic and behavioral support using a multi-tiered approach (ie. RtI, PBIS) Communicate with families, other school staff, school administration, and students on student progressCreate pathways for students to be career and community aware; promoting a strong sense of civicmindedness. Utilize Google classroom.Qualified candidates should have NYS Math 7-12 teacher certification. Candidates currently enrolled in a teacher prep program are encouraged to apply. Candidates with NYS teacher certification in another content area but have a strong math background are also encouraged to apply.
