RCS is looking for a dynamic High School Social Studies teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning, creative and engaging in the classroom, and dedicated to helping all students succeed. Candidates should be innovative in practice, have a strong value for “school community,” and have vision in preparing our students to be civic and career-minded. Successful candidates should be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, community partners, and families to help students reach high levels of success and must be able to teach 7-12 Social Studies courses that include but are not limited to US History, Global History II, and US Government, Geography II, and UHS US History. Candidate will be expected to:Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly classroom environment.Engage students in being active participants in the learning process.Provide both academic and behavioral support using a multi-tiered approach (ie. RtI, PBIS). Create pathways for students to be career and community aware; promoting a strong sense of civic responsibility.Elicit strong community –partnerships that lead to career experience and community service
