Candidates should be innovative in practice, have a strong value in “school community,” and have vision in preparing our students to be civic-minded. Candidate will be expected to:Support the literacy priorities of our elementary school programs.Collaborate with classroom teachers to instill a love of reading in students.Circulate, purchase and maintain library resources.Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly classroom environment.Provide guidance, recommendations, and push-in support for instructional technologies used in the building.Support digital literacy instruction, instructional technologies, and research practices.Provide both academic and behavioral support using a multi-tiered approach (ie. MTSS, PBIS). Communicate with families, other school staff, school administration, and students on student progress.Create pathways for students to be career and community aware; promoting a strong sense of civic mindedness. Utilize Google classroom, Google Suite, and other instructional technologies.Qualifications : New York Certification: Library Media Specialist and/or Elementary Education.
