Questar III BOCES has an opening for the position of Director of School Health Services.The Director of School Health Services is a full-time position that will ensure that a wide variety of health care functions and educational activities are provided to students in preschool and school aged BOCES programs in cooperation and consultation with other health professionals, educators, school personnel and parents. It will also ensure the preparation of a health curriculum and that children in BOCES programs receive responsive, supportive, and appropriate health care. Typical activities include overseeing all New York State mandated physical examinations for new entrants and in grades PreK or K, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, & 11 who do not present a certificate of health from a duly licensed physician, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner in New York State; review Physician Physicals and pre-participation health history forms; consult with school nurses in their care for children found to have physical or mental disabilities.Applicants must hold a valid license as a Nurse Practitioner.
