Assistant Principal - Elementary SchoolAnticipated Position July 1, 2023The Putnam Valley Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for an elementary school assistant principal effective July 1, 2023. We are seeking a candidate with a passion for learning, commitment to students, and dedication to working collaboratively with parents, faculty and staff.Candidates should have successful experience as an elementary teacher; strong understanding of the elementary-aged child and child development; strong knowledge of current elementary curriculum; demonstrated investment in Common Core Standards Instruction; demonstrated commitment to student progress and current educational demands; solid understanding of NYS Math and ELA testing requirements; skills and experience with discipline at the elementary level; excellent communication skills with students, staff, and parents; innovative leadership experience in the area of professional development; excellent interpersonal skills; understanding of effective use of data and technology to improve instruction; strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will possess experience using the Fundations program and understand Response to Intervention practices and systems.Incumbents will participate in the supervision and evaluation of teachers, teaching assistants, clerical staff and other support staff. Provides leadership for faculty, curriculum development groups, grade levels, and building committees/groups as assigned by the principal. Successful applicants should have experience with scheduling, testing coordination, and student discipline.New York State Certification as a School Building Leader is required. Prior teaching experience (Elementary School) is preferred. The salary is as per the PVAA collective bargaining agreement with a salary range - $130,000 - $150,000/year.Letters of interest accepted through May 19, 2023
