Theater Manager* Anticipated Position September 1, 2026 (Civil Service Competitive Class Position*) At Putnam Valley Schools, we are seeking a highly creative, forward-thinking, and dynamic Theater Manager to lead our premier Performing Arts Center (PAC) located within Putnam Valley High School. As the district’s supervisor for the PAC, this individual will oversee the operational excellence of a professional-grade 568-seat venue, and is responsible for the strategic, operational, and technical leadership of all theater-related activities across the district. This includes but is not limited to: oversight of all technical operations - lighting, sound, projection, etc.; event execution - all school and community events, master calendar management, external PAC rental management; partnership with school leadership, administration, and external clients for comprehensive event planning; annual and multi-year budgets; student workforce development - technician training program, internship program opportunities; long-term capital planning - equipment upgrades, theater space maintenance, regular service on all PAC systems; safety compliance, PAC revenue generation; and other duties and responsibilities as required by Administration. Prior theater management experience preferred. Excellent communication skills, and excellent organizational skills are essential. Minimum qualifications as determined by the New York State Civil Service Commission/Putnam County Department of Personnel. The anticipated position is available September 1, 2026, and follows the school calendar. Salary is commensurate with experience.
