Computer Support SpecialistAnticipated PositionMarch 17, 2025 The Putnam Valley Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a computer support specialist effective March 17, 2025. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and performing repairs on computers, printers and network devices for the Putnam Valley Central School District; database management, inventory tracking, software renewal updates; responding to help desk requests, troubleshoot technical issues and repair computers and peripheral equipment. This position involves considerable contact and interaction with administrators and officials, staff, and students. Duties may include first level technical support to users, performing ongoing maintenance and software upgrades. Work is performed under general supervision. Performs related duties as required. Performs a variety of related duties as required. This anticipated position is a full-time, 12-month position. Hours are 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Medical, dental, vacation, sick, and personal benefits available. NYS Employees’ Retirement System eligibility. Salary is as per the CSEA collective bargaining agreement. Minimum - $69,753, Midpoint - $81,381, Maximum - $89,108.This is a Civil Service Competitive Class position. To be appointed to this position, the candidate must be one of the top three candidates on a Putnam County Certification of Eligibles list in the title Computer Support Specialist or hold current Civil Service appointment in the title of Computer Support Specialist. Civil Service minimum qualifications: Either Associates degree, or higher, in computer science or related field and one (1) year of experience working with computer technology, computer maintenance and repair, computer software/hardware applications and/or analysis; or Associate’s degree, or higher, and two (2) years of experience working with computer technology, computer maintenance and repair, computer software/hardware applications and/or analysis; or Graduation from high school or possession of a comparable diploma and three (3) years of experience working with computer technology, computer maintenance and repair, computer software/hardware applications and/or analysis.For more information, please visit the Putnam County Department of Personnel website - https://www.putnamcountyny.com/personneldept/contact-us/.
