Library Media SpecialistThe Putnam Valley Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Library Media Specialist.Responsibilities include:Plan instruction and develop the library media program using NY State Standards and schools' curricula. Develops and maintains a library curriculum map.Collaborates with staff to enhance student learning and engagement.Develops a culture of reading and promotes reading as a foundational skill for learning, personal growth, and enjoyment. Plan and provide instruction that addresses multiple literacies, including information literacy, media literacy, and technology literacy.Teach and model developmentally appropriate best practices for learning and research.Provides a well-managed, safe, and welcoming environmentSupports curriculum through selection and management of resources that meet the needs and interests of patrons.
