Schedule: 3 Days per WeekStart Date: Mid-SeptemberEnd Date: November 30thReports To: Director of Special Education Job Summary:Port Byron Central School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide part-time long-term substitute coverage during a maternity leave. The position is responsible for supporting students’ educational success by helping them develop the skills needed for academic participation, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and functional school-based tasks.Key Responsibilities:Provide occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Conduct screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations of students to determine eligibility and need for OT services.Develop and implement appropriate goals and therapeutic interventions based on student needs.Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and special education staff to support student access to the curriculum.Document progress toward IEP goals and maintain accurate records of services provided.Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals and accommodations.Utilize a variety of tools and materials to engage students in meaningful, functional activities.Qualifications:Current New York State license to practice Occupational TherapyExperience working in a school setting preferredKnowledge of IEP development and special education proceduresStrong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
