The Port Byron Central School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist / CSE & CPSE chairperson to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will: Conduct evaluations to assess students' strengths, challenges, and functional abilities Provide direct therapy services to improve students' skills in areas such as fine motor coordination, handwriting, sensory processing, attention, organization, and self-regulation.Integrate strategies into the classroom environment and develop accommodations and supports to address students' individual learning styles and needs.Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, progress notes, and outcomes to track students' growthAs the CSE / CPSE chairperson you will:Provide leadership and guidance to the CSE/CPSE team to ensure effective collaboration and decision-making in the development of individualized education plans.Oversee the scheduling, coordination, and facilitation of CSE/CPSE meetings, including initial referrals, annual reviews, reevaluations, and transition planning meetings, in accordance with mandated timelines and procedures.Lead the development, review, and revision of IEPs for students with disabilities, incorporating input from team members, parents, and students when appropriate, and ensuring alignment with academic standards, instructional goals, and accommodations/modifications.Foster positive and collaborative relationships with parents/guardiansStay informed about current research and best practices in special education and related fields through professional development.Please submit a cover letter, resume, and references on OLAS.
