The Pine Plains Central School District and BOE supports a diverse, inclusive, and equitable learning environment that reaches all students. We are currently seeking a certified elementary educator who is passionate about extending enrichment opportunities to both a small select group of qualified students on a daily basis, along with several grade level enrichment seminars throughout the school year.In the past the enrichment teacher focused learning on opportunities that students were unable to take advantage of in the classroom. Some of the STEAM focused activities included: geocaching, skull identification, an annual chess tournament, colonial mystery illness outbreak, amazon survival skills, kid-biz start-up business, among others. We are looking to welcome an educator who fosters independent learning that is age appropriate, critical thinking across disciplines, and collaborative educational opportunities to support speaking and listening skills. Interested candidates should submit a proposal to outline their ideas to continue to foster STEAM learning activities, detail 2-3, including a time frame, materials, and learning objectives, along with ideas on how to grow the program through your own research-based pedagogy, certificated interests, or life passions. The proposal should also include grades 2-5, with the understanding that a class of approximately 10-15 students would meet on a daily basis for an hour throughout the entirety of the school year. While student strengths in ELA and Math are used as preliminary indicators for recommendation into the program, they are not the only data points utilized by the Instructional Study Team to maintain the enrichment roster. Please upload a copy of your resume, cover letter and proposal.
