Qualifications: All applicants must have a valid NYS Teaching or Coaching License, CPR/AED, First Aid and Concussion certificates. Coaching experience required at the Varsity level.Responsibilities:• Organize and be present at practice 5-6 days per week for approximately 2 hours per day.• Ensure that all aspects of the program comply with the guidelines, rules and policies that have been established by the School District, League, Section, State and National Federation.• Develops and communicates criteria for selection to appropriate teams.• Formulates and submits team rosters and practice schedules to the Director of Athletics.• Develop practice plans and game plans throughout the season designed to maximize and improve student performance in the sport.• Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation within the school sports program.• Completes and submits all documents and reports in a timely manner.• Displays and encourages sportsmanship.• Represents the PJ District and the Program in a positive manner, and serves as a role model for students.• Evaluate coach, team and individual performance to help with personal and team growth.• Adjust practice and game plans to the strengths and skills of the team.Fall Regular Season Dates:High School: Approximately Aug. 22, 2022 - Nov. 4, 2022Middle School: September 1, 2022 – Nov. 4, 2022COVID-19 considerations:All potential new hires must provide proof vaccination for COVID or be subject to mandatory weekly testing for COVID-19.In addition to the OLAS application, please download and complete the Port Jefferson School District supplemental application.The application is located at:http://portjeffschools.org/departments/human_resourcesThank you for your interest in Port Jefferson School District.
