ANTICIPATED OPENING 2026-2027 SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER – PROBATIONARY The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District’s Social Studies Department is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students while fostering a positive, inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment. Location: POBJFK High School Responsibilities: - Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the New York State Social Studies Framework - Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning for a diverse group of students. - Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and shared best practices. - Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues. Key Qualifications: - Motivated and passionate about teaching social studies and civics. - Strong understanding of curriculum and instructional strategies. - Work in a school district that values creativity and innovation in education. - Make a positive impact on students’ language learning journey. Requirements: - Must have a current and valid NYS Department of Education Certificated in Social Studies 7-12 - Demonstrated facility with various educational technology.
