ANTICIPATED OPENING FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEARPHYSICAL EDUCATION/HEALTH TEACHER-PROBATIONARYThe Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District’s Physical Education, Health Education and Athletic Department is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students while fostering a positive and culturally responsive learning environment. Responsibilities: - Design and implement engaging Physical and Health Education lessons aligned with NYS Learning Standards that promote lifelong fitness, wellness, and healthy decision-making.- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom and gymnasium environment that supports students of all abilities and encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities and contribute to school-wide wellness initiatives.- Utilize a variety of assessment tools and data to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and provide timely feedback to students and families.- Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development and actively participate in faculty meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities. Key Responsibilities: - Valid New York Certification in Physical Education and/or Health Education (dual certification preferred).- Demonstrated knowledge of New York State Learning Standards for Physical and Health Education.- Proven ability to create and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that promote physical fitness, health literacy, and overall student well-being.- Strong classroom and behavior management skills with an emphasis on inclusion, equity, and positive reinforcement.- Experience using formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and guide instructional practices. - Ability to effectively integrate technology & multimedia tools to enhance instruction and student engagement.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaborative relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the broader school community.- Willingness to contribute to the school culture by participating in extra-curricular activities, coaching, or wellness initiatives.Requirements: - Valid NYS Teaching Certification in Physical Education and Health Education K-12 Salary: As per contractDeadline: Thursday May 1, 2025
