Executive Director of Special Education, Support Services, and HealthStart Date: On or about August 21, 2024Job Description:The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to serve as the Executive Director of Special Education, Support Services, and Health. This leadership position requires a dynamic professional with a deep understanding of special education laws, exceptional administrative skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment for students, faculty, and families.The ideal candidate will exemplify the Core Values of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District and will become an integral part of a dynamic leadership team and supportive school community. The Executive Director reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools,Key Responsibilities: Supervise and Support the Assistant Directors, Director of CSE and Mental Health, CSE Chairpeople, and Nurses Oversee all aspects of the District's special education programs, support services, and health services Ensure compliance with NYS Part 200 and 201 and federal special education laws and regulations. Collaborate with district and building-level administrators to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. In collaboration with Assistant Business Official, develop and manage 611 and 619 grants, and budgets Analyze data to inform processes, practices, and policy decisions. Be an integral partner with POB SEPTA/PTA and outside organizations that support students. Secure professional development and workshops for administrations, faculty, and staff Maintain effective communication with parents, staff, and the community.Qualifications:NYS School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) Certification requiredMinimum of 5 years of teaching or comparable experienceDistrict-level administrative or building principal experience requiredWorking knowledge of grant writing and budget developmentProven record of program implementation and consensus buildingExceptional knowledge of special education lawFluent in IEP Direct, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to analyze data to inform processes and practiceStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsSalary: 180K-200K (commensurate with experience)Interested candidates should apply on OLAS and include a cover letter, resume, NYS certification, and references. https://olasjobs.org/Application Deadline: July 15, 2024
