ANTICIPATED OPENING 2023-2024Full Time Occupational Therapist (Must meet Civil Service requirements for title)Typical Duties:-Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ fine motor skills, sensory processing and functional abilities-Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with other members of the educational team-Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings -Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the students’ educational plans-Monitor and document students’ progress, adjusting intervention plans as needed-Offer consultation and support to teachers regarding classroom modifications and accommodations to meet students’ needs-Participate in Individualized Education Programs (IEP) meetings, contributing expertise and goals for occupational therapy services-Educate school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies to support students’ occupational therapy goals outside of therapy sessions-Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in occupational therapy and apply this knowledge to enhance service deliveryQualifications:-Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program-Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist-Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)-Experience in working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting-Strong knowledge of educational laws regulations, and policies relating to special education-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary teamPreferred Skills:-Specialization or additional training in pediatric Occupational Therapy-Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment-Familiarity with sensory integration techniques
