ANTICIPATED OPENING (2026-2027) Middle School Principal (11-Month + 5 Day Work Year) Salary: $180,000-$185,000 Position: The Middle School Principal serves as the instructional leader, providing leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, staff supervision and evaluation, student services, school safety, and building operations. The position is responsible for fostering a positive school culture that promotes academic excellence, student wellbeing, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and district requirements. Working collaboratively with students, staff, families, and District administrators, the Principal supports the District's mission and goals by creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that prepares students for future success. The Principal promotes a nurturing and supportive school climate by implementing developmentally appropriate practices, supporting positive student behavior, and ensuring strong foundational instruction in literacy and numeracy. Responsibilities include supervising and evaluating staff, leading professional development, engaging families and the broader school community, coordinating school events, and collaborating with District leadership. The Principal also leads MTSS processes, early academic interventions, and social-emotional supports, demonstrating flexibility, emotional intelligence, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement in response to the evolving needs of students and the school community. Qualifications: The successful applicant must have: - New York State School Building Leader (SBL) certification required. - Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience. - Minimum of three (3) years of successful administrative or leadership experience preferred. - Demonstrated knowledge of middle school curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student achievement. - Experience supervising and evaluating instructional and support staff. - Knowledge of New York State learning standards, regulations, and accountability requirements. - Experience supporting diverse learners, including students with disabilities and English Language Learners. - Demonstrated ability to foster a positive school climate that promotes student growth and engagement. - Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Experience using data to inform instructional and operational decision-making. - Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with students, staff, and community members. - Knowledge of student discipline, attendance, school safety, and behavioral support systems. - Ability to effectively manage building operations, resources, and budgets.
