Duties: Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a full-time vacancy for a Culturally Responsive Educator with the Lower Hudson Regional Partnership Center to fulfill the NYSED Office of Special Education’s Educational Partnership contract requirements and be responsible for the duties below:Provide training that informs the relationship between teaching, learning, and cultural context, as well as training related to effective instructional practices for students who are multilingual/English language learners with suspected or identified disabilities;Lead technical assistance and coaching for schools on reducing disproportionality to improve outcomes of students with disabilities through the implementation of culturally responsive and evidence-based practices;Facilitate systems change work in districts throughout the Lower Hudson region, provide leadership support and coaching, and coordinate intensive embedded support through the development and implementation of NYSED-approved support plans;Collect, analyze, and monitor district data to assess outcomes of students with disabilities, and practices and systems that support them;Document and submit all work in accordance with NYSED OSE requirements.Qualifications: Master’s degree and NYS certification in special education, TESOL, bilingual extension, or a related services field;A minimum of five years’ experience teaching culturally and/or linguistically diverse students with disabilities or the provision of related services;Three years' experience providing professional development and leading school improvement/systems change work;Experience implementing the NYSED CR-SE framework and MTSS.Characteristics Desired: Excellent presentation and facilitation skills;Excellent oral and written communication skills;Willingness and ability to consistently travel across the Lower Hudson region;Interest in and ability to analyze research and lead groups in data analysis;Possess a positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to the PNW BOCES core value of Pathways to Success for Every Student.Non-Discrimination & Equal Opportunity: Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES offers equal educational and employment opportunities, including career and technical education opportunities, without regard to age, religion, race, creed, color, national origin, sex, disability, marital status, military status, sexual orientation, predisposing genetic characteristics, as defined by New York State Human Rights Law.
