Duties: Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Coordinator for Adult Education and Workforce Development to coordinate the PNW BOCES Adult Education and Workforce Development Services. Duties may include:Develops, administers and coordinates the Adult and Continuing Education programs including scheduling courses and communicating with instructors;Conducts assessments to determine and identify needs of business, industry, and the community; and develops courses and adult education programs to fit these needs;Coordinates admission process of all self-paying and agency/government funded adult students;Maintains all required financial records of the program;Prepares marketing materials to encourage participation in programs;Prepares and administers the annual budget for the program; while monitoring expenses and revenues;Writes and secures grants and monitors grant awards;Identifies staffing needs and ensures appropriate supervisor coverage for the courses; assists in recruiting, hiring and evaluating adult education instructors;Arranges and directs in-service education for instructional staff;Tracks and evaluates program participation and satisfaction in adult education database and makes determinations about minimum enrollment; determines program outcome for purpose of continuation or cancellation;Identifies location, cost, scheduling and other necessary details for successful coordination and operation of adult programs;Coordinates use of remote sites and facilities for adult and continuing education programs;Prepares, reviews and analyzes periodic reports to evaluate programmatic goals and objectives;Oversees work-based learning coordinatorsCoordinates all BOCES workforce development efforts and initiativesThe incumbent of this position must be able to flex working hours to ensure evening programs are supported. This is a full-time, 12-month tenure track position.Qualifications: The successful candidate must have:A thorough understanding of Federal and State rules and regulations relating to Adult Education;NYS SDL or SDA certification;Minimum of five years of experience managing service-based programs and budgets;Leadership experience preferred;Outstanding facilitation, verbal communication, and writing skills, as well as experience providing effective professional learning.Characteristics Desired: Must be organized and exhibit strong planning skills and follow-through;Must have strong interpersonal skills to work well with students, teachers, administrators, and support staff;Must be an innovative self-starter with entrepreneurial skills preferred;Must be aligned with PNW BOCES mission and driven by providing service to others and committed to building strong partnerships.
