Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a Full-Time Physical Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidate is needed to provide instruction to school aged special education students. Must have the ability to function as a positive and contributing member of our BOCES team. Must be able to provide Adapted Physical Education lessons and activities to students with disabilities.Qualifications: Appropriate New York State Education Department certification in Physical Education. Familiarity with Adaptive Physical Education (APE) is preferred.Characteristics Desired: Extensive knowledge of instructional approaches for students with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders and/or multiple disabilities. Must be driven, organized and have the ability to positively manage students. Successful candidate must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
