Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Teacher aide or Teaching assistant to work one-on-one in small group settings with students that have behavioral challenges to deescalate crisis situations where the student(s) are acting out; provide program-wide, active response to instructional staff when a crisis situation emerges; complete post event debriefing and associated paperwork documenting a crisis situation including but not limited to situations when students present a danger to oneself or others; and provide turnkey training to staff members and parents on research-based intervention strategies.There is a $6,000 annual stipend for this appointment.QUALIFICATIONS:Crisis Intervention Specialists must maintain their Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification in order to remain in their role and receive their stipend.CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED:Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work in collaboration with their peers and in a team-based environment. Effective oral and written communication skills. A commitment to the PNW BOCES mission of service and innovation through partnership.
