Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a full-time Director of Leadership and Equity to support the Professional Learning Division; specifically, the Center for Educational Leadership (CEL) and Guidance and Child Study Center (GCSC). Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Superintendent, the Director of Leadership and Equity will:Provide overall leadership to elevate and expand equity work with BOCES and the region;Support recruiting and retaining of diverse, equitable, and inclusive staffing;Develop and support professional learning and resources for culturally sustaining/relevant curriculum and instruction;Collaborate to develop programs to expand student opportunity and address achievement gaps within BOCES and the region;Coordinate internal and external resources/funds and expand community partnerships to support equity work.Qualifications: Exciting leadership opportunity for an exceptional school leader committed to developing professional learning and equity. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion; experience creating high quality, innovative programs and services to meet changing regional needs; expertise in program development, supervision and budgeting; an effective communicator who has developed positive relationships with colleagues, faculty, staff, consultants, etc. A minimum of five years of administrative experience in a similar leadership position and New York State district level administrative certification required (SDA or SDL).Characteristics Desired: Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
