Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a need for a Food Service Helper. This is a full-time, 10-month position. This position is unique to serving the needs of our diverse student population and assisting in the operations of the school kitchen, in a friendly and professional manner. Duties may include the following:Clean and organize the cafeteria prep and serving area;Assist kitchen staff with food prep and meal serving;Utilize POS system for student transactions;Assist with inventory management;Bank deposits, as needed;Other duties as assignedQualifications: The successful candidate must have a High School diploma or equivalent, be physically able to perform job-related duties, follow written and oral instructions thoroughly and be proficient in organizational and communication skills. Candidate should be:Familiar with proper methods of serving food;Familiar with proper care of tableware, glassware, silverware, kitchen appliances;Working knowledge of modern cleaning methods & use of cleaning supplies & appliancesCharacteristics Desired: Successful candidates must be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
