Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a certified health instructor to provide instruction at the Walden Learning Center program for students in grades 7-8 to begin in the 2022-2023 school year. Students who attend our program present with a variety of social, emotional, and learning challenges. The program supports students who receive special education services in a supportive and therapeutic atmosphere.Qualifications:• The successful candidate must be NYSED certified in Health;• Have extensive knowledge of special education;• Proven ability to lead a classroom with knowledge of effective instructional practices for students with disabilities;• Desire to work effectively as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team to facilitate student success.Characteristics Desired: Previous experience working with students with disabilities desired. Candidate must be highly organized and have effective communication skills. Additionally, must have a commitment to the PNW BOCES mission of service and innovation through partnership.
