Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a full-time Teacher Assistant for our Educational Technology Department. Under the direction of the Education Technology Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for working with students and staff individually and in small groups agency-wide to support the use of education technology. Duties will include, but are not limited to, supporting technology use in our special education and career and technical education programs, suggesting applications and/or websites to support learning and assisting in meeting the goals of the education technology department. This appointment will include a 4-year probationary period and lead to a possible recommendation for Tenure.Qualifications: NYS Certification as a Teaching Assistant or Teacher required.Characteristics Desired: Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership. Additionally, the successful candidate should be proficient and/or have a passion for educational technology, be flexible and have strong interpersonal, organizational and planning skills with top notch follow through. Previous experience with students with special needs is preferred.
