Assists skilled mechanics in repair and construction projects such as carpentry, painting, masonry, paving and roofing work; Makes simple electrical, plumbing and heating repairs; Assists skilled mechanics in inspection of buildings and properties to identify projects for maintenance or repair; Maintains grounds by mowing lawns, planting, weeding, applying pesticides, raking leaves, shoveling snow and sanding walkways; sports field maintenance; Empties trash receptacles and removes garbage and litter from streets, walkways, parks and other municipal facilities; Assists in setting up stages, seating and tables for special events; breaks down and cleans up afterward; Assists skilled mechanics in emergency repair and maintenance tasks, including road, water, storm water and sanitary sewer repairs; Performs other general building and grounds maintenance tasks; Performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled work; May lead laborers in performing maintenance tasks to complete projects and assignments Hours: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
