The Pleasantville Union Free School District is seeking an Assistant Principal for Pleasantville Middle School. We are looking for a student-centered leader that shares the common vision of our community, which is to provide engaging, rigorous educational opportunities in an environment that is safe and supportive of all students. Salary range is $140,000 - $160,000 Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Principal to establish and maintain a positive school culture that promotes academic achievement, social and emotional development, and inclusivity. Lead efforts in DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) compliance and leadership development initiatives, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students. Work closely with teachers and staff to develop and implement a rigorous and inclusive curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our student population.Provide guidance and support to teachers in the design and implementation of effective instructional practices and differentiation strategies.Support the special education program, including the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), accommodations, and support services for students with disabilities. Lead the master scheduling process, ensuring efficient use of resources and equitable distribution of classes and student assignments. Chair the Section 504 committee to ensure compliance with Section 504 regulations and provide appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities. Qualifications: New York State certification as a School Administrator or School Building Leader. Minimum of 3 years of experience in educational leadership or administration, preferably in a middle school setting. Strong knowledge of DASA regulations and experience implementing bullying prevention programs. Experience in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and assessment practices. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with special education students and support staff in meeting their needs. Proficiency in master scheduling techniques and software applications. Familiarity with Section 504 regulations and experience in providing accommodations for students with disabilities.Letter of interest, resume, certification(s), and transcript(s) must be attached to the OLAS application.
